Your questions answered
Is my eye test free?
Your NHS eye test is free if you're 60 or over, under 16, 16 to 18 in full-time education, have diabetes or glaucoma, are 40 or over with a parent, sibling or child with glaucoma, or get Universal Credit (within the earnings limits), income-related ESA or Pension Credit Guarantee Credit. Otherwise a private eye examination is £30. Check if you qualify.
How much are glasses?
Complete pairs with single vision lenses start at £59 in our Essentials range. Our £99 Simply Stylish pairs include anti-glare, and so does our £149 Elevated range. The Edit, from £219, brings together J.HYDE and Heyelander's boldest styles. Varifocals start at £125. Second pair half price on all private complete pairs. See all our prices.
Do you accept NHS vouchers?
Yes. If you have an NHS optical voucher you can choose from our dedicated voucher range at no cost, or put the voucher towards any frame and just pay the difference.
Can I bring my own prescription?
Yes. You don't need to have your eye test with us to buy glasses from us. Bring your current prescription to either practice.
